The Twilight Zone: Review: Valley of the Shadow

They made it so it was all a dream. Execution by erasure of memory and events. Philip Redfield traveled a distance, mile after mile and gets lost, only to travel to a crazy town which tried to keep him there. Aliens visited and gave them technology fitting to god-like powers and now, he can’t leave. Then he tries to escape with a woman captive, a jezebel who betrayed him.

Then they executed him by erasing his presence in the town and frying his memory, all like it never happened. Now he has a second chance and has left, this time to the right path, on route, out of the Twilight Zone. Thank God.

I’m pretty sure the man who played the mayor of the town acted in The High Chapparalle, a western on TV, maybe in the 1970s. He’s likely to be dead now but he was young enough to play the characters he did on both shows and he may have even been on the hit western, Bonanza.
