Now I get it. She’s a ghost and the weird hitch-hiker was a ghost too, waiting to be carried to the afterlife and that’s why she was scared. She was like a soul-less spirit just existing but people around don’t realize it because her death was so recent and the effects of her ghost wasn’t yet felt. This was a scary episode of The Twilight Zone, the scariest I have ever seen. It was frightening but I wanted to watch to the very end, to see what was going to happen. The man was dead too but no one could see him, only her and that’s what he was trying to tell her, to accompany him as they were two ghosts about to go to the afterlife but she was scared.
