The Twilight Zone: Review: The Thirty-Fathom Grave

It was dead men, dead men the whole time. Ghosts haunted the sailor’s ship and clamoured for their surviving comrade who took his own life as he couldn’t deal with the guilt, the pressure of being the lone survivor after damning his comrades to doom and death. That’s why he was haunted. Plus he felt guilt for killing his own crew, twenty years ago. And now he’s gone, gone to face God almighty for his actions. Oh, boy!

A chief on a ship was haunted by the images of a crew he doomed twenty years ago by cutting his losses and killed them to stay alive during war and on that ship, twenty years later, they appeared to haunt him and he couldn’t handle the guilty conscience, so he took his own life by drowning himself in sorrow, literally! What an episode and I saw young actor Bill Bixby in this episode. What a thrill, and suspense.
